6. MLB Power Rankings: Yankees trade candidate Gleyber Torres

The New York Yankees finally moved Gleyber Torres away from shortstop this season but that hasn’t changed some doubts about him. Still a productive member of the team with 24 home runs and a .257/.310/.451 slash line, this is a team with many young players getting closer to the big leagues and some huge changes possibly on the horizon.

In a trade involving Torres, the Yankees can actually help themselves in finding an Aaron Judge replacement. Even if Judge does return, it might be time to move on from Torres. A team looking for a second baseman would be the best fit.

The Chicago White Sox could greatly benefit from having Torres as their longer-term project at second base playing alongside Tim Anderson. They also have a lot of young talent on their roster. Perhaps they can offer the Yankees some pitching or outfield upgrades.

5. MLB Power Rankings: Marlins trade candidate Pablo Lopez

Trading Sandy Alcantara this winter makes a little bit of sense but where does it leave the Miami Marlins? Pablo Lopez, on the other hand, seems destined to get moved in exchange for some offense.

Lopez began the year strong but ended up with only a 10-10 record and a 3.75 ERA. It wasn’t bad. It also wasn’t the pace he began the season at.

When it comes to a trade involving a pitcher like Lopez, a lot of teams can get involved. A team with enough offense to spare and a great need for arms would make the most sense. Depending on how much they spend in free agency, the Texas Rangers could be a match. They have some good hitting and even some prospects to move.
