Eagles GM Howie Roseman hilariously clapped back at a fan with a sign digging him ahead of Philadelphia’s Thursday Night Football clash with the Texans.

Fans in Philadelphia aren’t known for being particularly warm. The City of Brotherly Love has booed Santa Claus, so it’s no shock some fans are willing to turn on team officials at the drop of a hat.

Even a GM, like Howie Roseman, who has been among the best in the league for the last two decades is bound to take some stick. But Roseman is also more than ready to dish it back if you come at him. That was confirmed ahead of Thursday Night Football between the Eagles and Texans.

When a fan brought a sign forgiving Roseman for his previous wide receiver acquisitions, the GM had the perfect response.

“I’m [expletive] forgiven for your first [expletive] Super Bowl?” Roseman said goodnaturedly. “[Expletive] you!”

The fans’ sign read, “Howie, you are forgiven!” It had AJ Brown’s name with the names of JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Nelson Agholor and Jalen Reagor crossed out below it.

Agholor, Arcega-Whiteside and Reagor were certainly disappointments for the Eagles at wide receiver. Agholor was a first-rounder in 2015. So was Reagor in 2020. Arcega-Whiteside was picked up in the second in 2019. The former was productive but unreliable. The latter two are no longer with the team for a reason.

At the same time, 2021 first-rounder DeVonta Smith has been a strong pickup so far. Roseman’s wide receiver draft selections haven’t been all bad.

Moreover, Roseman built the team that won Super Bowl LII and he set this year’s Eagles up to start the season 7-0. He’s done just fine outside of those few draft miscues.

The acquisition of AJ Brown via a trade with the Titans on draft day has worked out especially beautifully. Brown leads Philadelphia with 659 yards and five touchdowns on 39 receptions.
