The Clemson Tigers were on upset alert in Week 10, as they trailed the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at halftime.
The last time the Clemson Tigers played was on Oct. 22, when they were nearly upset by the Syracuse Orange. They have returned from their bye to take on a Notre Dame Fighting Irish team that convincingly beat Syracuse the week prior.
Clemson, who received the No. 4 ranking in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season, were officially on upset alert at halftime. The Tigers trailed the Fighting Irish 14-0. By the start of the fourth quarter, they were down 21-0.
Social media users shared their thoughts on Clemson being one of three big schools in the night slate entering halftime by trailing their respective opponent.

If there is one thing that Clemson fans could take solace in at this moment it’s that they were not the only top football program to be trailing. The No. 5 Michigan Wolverines were down 17-14 to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide trailed 7-6 to the No. 10 LSU Tigers.
After Clemson’s first offensive drive of the game, Aidan Swanson watched his punt attempt get blocked by linebacker Jordan Botelho. Linebacker Prince Kollie recovered the football and returned it for a 17-yard touchdown.
Just before halftime, Notre Dame extended their lead to 14-0 following a five-yard touchdown run by quarterback Drew Pyne.
As the first half expired, tempers flared after Tigers offensive guard Walker Parks shoved Fighting Irish defensive lineman Jayson Ademilola to the ground. Parks was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Clemson will look to bounce back in the fourth quarter to retain their undefeated record but it will take a major comeback.
