Three teams ranked inside the Top 6 got knocked off last week, but how much chaos are the college football upset picks for Week 11 predicting?

A recipe for chaos last week in college football was always cooking but it’s rare that so much of it gets delivered like it did in Week 10. Tennessee was an underdog but got thoroughly handled by Georgia, Alabama got clipped by LSU in Death Valley, Clemson got blasted by Notre Dame, and much more. And lucky for us, we hit on four of our five college football upset picks for the week.

Now it’s time for an encore. Admittedly, the matchups are quite as juicy as they were last Saturday, but there are still some trap spots for highly ranked teams in addition to some obvious marquee matchups.

Some games that won’t be part of the Week 11 upset picks, though, are UNC at Wake Forest, Kansas State at Baylor, and TCU at Texas. That’s because the lower-ranked or unranked teams in those matchups on their home fields are actually favored, thus not meeting the required criteria for a true upset. Illinois facing Purdue and Tulane hosting UCF are also ones to watch, but they don’t make the Top 5.

So where does that leave us? Let’s dive into our college football upset picks for Week 11, a Saturday of action that has a tough act to follow.

College football upset picks for Week 11: 5 teams on upset alert

5. LSU Tigers

Opponent: at Arkansas | Time: Saturday, Nov. 12, Noon ET | Spread: LSU -3.5

If it wasn’t clear before, LSU taking down Alabama last week proved that we’re looking at the fruits of Brian Kelly’s labors in Baton Rouge right now. The Tigers began the year a bit out of sorts but the loss to Tennessee seemingly put them on the right track and has everything cooking.

With that said, it’s been impressive for LSU to turn around to the degree that they have given the depth of the roster. There isn’t a consistent run game outside of Jayden Daniels taking off from the quarterback spot, the defense is thin (although dangerous, particularly on the edge) and there just isn’t the overall talent level we’re used to seeing from the Tigers.

Now this team, on the heels of their massive victory, goes to hostile Fayetteville to play an Arkansas team that should be motivated for a bounce-back after losing to Liberty last week. The Tigers look like the better team, but this would be the perfect spot for a letdown game to pop up and clip them, thus ending their CFP chances.
