Twitter described the Chicago Bears and Justin Fields’ season with poetic comments about the loss to the Detroit Lions.

Make no mistake about it, the Chicago Bears will go as Justin Fields goes, and the fans of the Windy City know that by now. However, that didn’t stop them from expressing their feelings about the season and the loss to the Detroit Lions in a series of tweets.

YouTuber Brett Kollmann described it best with one tweet that was the perfect example of just how this team has played in their 3-7 record.

A one-man show with practically no help around him. Yes, they brought Chase Claypool at the trade deadline, but they also traded Roquan Smith and Robert Quinn, so what could you really expect?

Justin Fields having to play hero ball describes the Chicago Bears 2022-23 season in a nutshell

Passing for 167 yards and rushing for 147 yards against the Lions would usually be enough stats to win, and Justin Fields did what he could, but the fourth quarter was an undisciplined disaster. Penalties giving the Lions golden opportunities to win were an all-around bad way to close out what was a good start for the Bears. And in Chicago’s defense, they only lost by one point — a point where an overturned interception could have made all the difference.

But what more could we expect? The Bears do not have the talent to win many games, and beating the Lions should have been possible, yet it did not happen. As a result, the team is trending toward a high draft pick, although the rest of the NFC North serves as stiff competition.  While they do have a first and second-round pick, the latter is one the Ravens’ own, as the Bears had to trade their original pick to Pittsburgh for Claypool.

What more for the Bears? They have to get through the rest of this season with no more injuries and just see who is worth keeping and who needs to pack up and leave. It’s not going to be Justin Fields. He’s proved he can stay, but the front office needs to get him some protection and weapons while building up the line on the other side to ensure he can have more opportunities to score points.
