Georgia Bulldogs fans will like what College Football Playoff selection committee chair Boo Corrigan had to say after the latest rankings reveal ahead of Week 12.

The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the lone undefeated teams remaining entering Week 12 of the college football season. Once they defeated the Tennessee Volunteers 27-13 back in Week 10, it looked as though they were in the front of the pack to clinch the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff. They got a step closer to that this week as they blew out the Mississippi State 45-19.

On Tuesday night, the College Football Playoff selection committee kept Georgia in the No. 1 spot in their latest rankings reveal show. After the full Top 25 list was revealed, committee chair Boo Corrigan said something that will make Bulldogs fan happy — that “the committee believes there’s been separation with Georgia.”

That is certainly great news for Georgia, as they enter the final stretch of the season, and not entirely good news for Ohio State fans who were hoping the team would make a jump to the No. 1 spot in the Playoff.

Ohio State is one of four undefeated teams, sitting at 10-0. Just two weeks ago, however, they played an ugly game against Northwestern, who had only won a single game. They have two games left in the regular season, and that is Maryland this upcoming weekend, and against the fellow undefeated (as of this week) Michigan Wolverines.

The Bulldogs’ remaining opponents in the regular season include the Kentucky Wildcats, who lost to Vanderbilt this past week, and Georgia Tech, who lost three of their last four games.

Once those two games are finished, Georgia will move on to the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 3 as they clinched the East Division title. They will face the LSU Tigers, who have clinched the West following their win over Arkansas and Alabama’s win over Ole Miss.

From the sound of it, they will make the Playoff regardless of whether they win the SEC Championship Game or not.
