The Philadelphia Eagles have looked very mortal the past few weeks, raising questions about whether they are one of several NFL teams that could be frauds.

The term frauds is a loaded one in sports circles because it allows pundits to rip apart a team that has a gaudy win-loss record. Most teams in the NFL have now played ten games on the season, which is a large enough sample to gauge the true quality of these teams.

There is still time for potential frauds to turn things around, but several teams are starting to trend in the wrong direction as we approach Thanksgiving. Let’s take a look at three such teams, beginning with the Buffalo Bills.

3. NFL Teams That May Be Frauds – Buffalo Bills

It wasn’t too long ago that the Bills were the clear choice to represent the Super Bowl out of the AFC after a dominant performance in Kansas City against the Chiefs. Things have begun to unravel for Buffalo since then as Josh Allen made key mistakes in a loss to the Jets and the Bills’ defense collapsed against Minnesota, turning a 27-10 second-half lead into an overtime loss.

The Bills snapped their losing streak with a 31-23 win over Cleveland today but the offense couldn’t cash in on multiple opportunities, needing six field goals from Tyler Bass to help set up the win. The defense also had issues containing Jacoby Brissett, who passed for over 300 yards and threw three touchdowns in an odds-defying performance for a Browns’ offense that is very run-heavy.

There is plenty of time for the Bills to recapture their Super Bowl form but the sloppy play they have demonstrated the past few weeks will have to stop. If this fade continues, it will be fair to wonder if Buffalo is as good as people thought they were.
