0-for-America: What the hell is going on at Northwestern?
By John Buhler
Northwestern managed to not win a single game in North America this college season.
When you go 0-for-America like Nothwestern did this year, you are going to have a bad time.
After starting the college football season out 1-0 with a thrilling, neutral-site victory overseas over a Scott Frost-led Nebraska Cornhuskers team, Pat Fitzgerald’s Wildcats went on to lose its next 11 games. Home or away, this was arguably worst team in the Power Five, right down there with the Colorado Buffaloes. The Wildcats won the Big Ten West division crown two seasons ago…

cans from a mini fridge. This may be a proud academic institution, but these Wildcats are playing like the Kansas State Wildcats before Bill Snyder first arrived in Manhattan to relieve Stan Parrish…
While Fitzgerald is a hall-of-fame linebacker and a hall-of-fame-level head coach at his alma mater, how are the Wildcats this utterly toothless? Duke is going bowling. Vanderbilt is 5-6. Even though UConn definitely wanted to be relegated, Jim Mora brought a swift end to that. Even he won six games after moving his family into a haunted house in Storrs, Connecticut…
The only way Fitzgerald could wash out of Chicagoland football paradise is to go … 0-for-America.
