The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are having a rough final stretch of the season with Tristan Wirfs out, which could hurt Tom Brady’s chance of another Super Bowl.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has been one of the most dominant quarterbacks in NFL history since becoming a starter in 2001, and he’s earned seven Super Bowl rings, the most of any quarterback.

In the 2020 season, he brought the Bucs to their first Super Bowl since 2002, and he’s hoping to end his career with another win. However, that’s not looking likely as Tristan Wirfs, one of the most impactful offensive players on the team, is out for at least three to four weeks with a leg injury.

This certainly makes things much harder for the Buccaneers. It’ll likely limit their success in the regular season considering Wirfs was listed as the fourth-best in ESPN’s top 25 NFL Players under 25, so he’ll be practically impossible to replace.

The Buccaneers also lack depth with offensive tackles. Things aren’t looking good for Tampa Bay during the final stretch of the season.

The Buccaneers could be in trouble for the final stretch of the season

The Bucs recently lost to the Cleveland Browns 23-17 in overtime, which shouldn’t have been a tough matchup for them. They’ll face the New Orleans Saints for Week 13, which is another matchup that shouldn’t be too difficult, but anything can happen with Wirfs down.

The San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinnati Bengals will be two extremely difficult matchups upcoming, and Wirfs is expected to be out for both of them. While the offense still has potential, but unfortunately, players just haven’t been reaching their fullest potential so it doesn’t seem promising.

Mike Evans, for example, hasn’t been at his best lately with minimal action over the past few games. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, “Evans had one other catch for three yards while being targeted nine times over the course of the afternoon [on Sunday]. Evans caught 10 passes in the two previous games, but they covered just 94 yards.”

The offense needs Wirfs. The Buccaneers are already looking a bit concerning this season as they hold a 5-6 record, and they’re much less likely to turn it around down the stretch without Wirfs.
