Florida quarterback Jalen Kitna, son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, was arrested on child pornography charges.
There is some serious news to come out of the Florida Gators football program this Wednesday.
Sophomore quarterback Jalen Kitna, son of former NFL signal-caller Jon Kitna, was booked in Alachua County jail on Wednesday on child pornography charges. Kitna was charged with two counts of distribution of child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography.
In a CBS 4 News report, the Gainesville Police Department served a search warrant at Kitna’s residence after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a Discord user “distributed an image of child sexual abuse material.” It was determined that two images shared on Discord came from Kitna’s residence.
The Florida football program released a statement through Sports Illustrated, via Ross Dellenger, announcing that Kitna is suspended from the team indefinitely.
Authorities executed a search of Florida QB Jalen Kitna’s apartment with cause that it contained evidence of (1) child porn & (2) distribution of child porn.

“We are shocked and saddened to hear the news involving Jalen Kitna,” Florida’s statement read. “These are extremely serious charges and the University of Florida and the [University Athletic Association] have zero tolerance for such behavior.
“Jalen has been suspended indefinitely from the football program.”
Additionally, the CBS 4 News report stated that Kitna allegedly told police that he shared the two images because he thought it was “legal” since they were online. Police found three more images of child sexual abuse on his devices after a search.
Kitna joined the Florida football program back in 2021, where he was a backup on the depth chart. He played just four games during his time at Florida, all of which took place this year. He completed 10-of-14 pass attempts for 181 yards and one touchdown.
