Patriots fans couldn’t believe their eyes when Gillette aired an ad featuring Bills QB Josh Allen during their Thursday Night Football tilt with Buffalo.

There aren’t many brands as linked to an NFL team as Gillette and the Patriots. The razor brand has held naming rights to New England’s stadium since its debut season in 2002.

So why on earth did they get Bills quarterback Josh Allen to star in a commercial that aired during the Thursday Night Football game between the Patriots and Buffalo?

That’s what fans were asking after watching Allen cook with two touchdowns and 118 yards in the first half, then having to watch him during the commercial breaks as well.

Josh Allen’s Gillette commercial infuriated Patriots fans

It was bad enough Gillette hired a division rival of the Patriots as a spokesperson, New England also had to endure it as Allen less the Bills to a 17-7 lead at halftime.

Allen’s performance had Twitter talking on its own, especially after hitting Stefon Diggs for a touchdown and following that up with an absurd toss to Gabe Davis.

Fans at Gillette Stadium weren’t too happy with the performance of their team in the first half on Thursday night. Mac Jones partnered with Marcus Jones for a 48-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to put them up 7-3 but it was all Allen from there. His two second-quarter touchdowns gave Buffalo a 17-7 lead.

New England had a chance to cut the deficit before halftime thanks to a forced fumble by Josh Uche on Allen. However, Nick Folk missed a 48-yard field goal attempt after the Patriots’ offense couldn’t create a quick touchdown.
