It was the first of two meetings with the rival Bills and it took place in prime time. Bill Belichick’s team struggled mightily on offense in the limited time it was on the field. New England ran for only 60 yards while Mac Jones threw for just 195 yards and one score.

Belichick’s team was 3-of-12 on third down and had the football for only 21:52. Including last year’s playoff loss at Buffalo, the Patriots are just 1-5 in their last six meetings with the Bills.

It was the first meeting of the season between the Giants and Commanders and five quarters proved not to be enough to settle the issue. Big Blue trailed 10-0 after one quarter, and took a 20-13 lead in the third quarter but could not prevent the Commanders from sending the game into overtime.

The Giants did have an opportunity to win the game in OT but Graham Gano’s 58-yard field goal attempt on the final play of the extra session came up short.

Ron Rivera’s club took a three-game winning streak into its first meeting of the season with the rival Giants. And things looked good early on for the Commanders as the club took a 10-0 first-quarter lead.

Down 20-13 late in the fourth quarter, quarterback Taylor Heinicke came up with some more heroics as he put together an eight-play, 90-yard drive that culminated with a 28-yard TD pass to rookie Jahan Dotson. But neither team scored in overtime.
