Outside of TJ Watt, there are talented players with the Steelers, but it always seems that Watt is the only player that gets the attention of the opposing offenses. Moreover, the Steelers’ linebacker core has been lacking as of late. Devin Bush was supposed to be the guy to change that, but he has not done much. It’s time for a new face.

Look no further than Death Valley. No, not the Louisiana one, but the one at Clemson, where those Tigers are quite formidable. The ACC Champions have a date with Tennessee in the Orange Bowl, and linebacker Trenton Simpson will likely play his final collegiate game against the Volunteers. If he found his way to the Steelers, there is a lot to like.

Intensity, leadership, and production describe Simpson’s game. Like the greats who came before him and played at Clemson, Simpson has shown that he is ready for the next level, and the Steelers need a guy like him to be a voice in the middle. The Bengals and the Ravens have them in Germaine Pratt and Roquan Smith. The Steelers need one themselves if they want to make noise in a crowded division.
