Clients of sports agent Scott Boras who hit free agency this winter have absolutely cashed-in with lucrative contracts.

This MLB offseason, teams were not afraid to devote huge money on long-term deals to some of the top free agents. There have been huge contracts given out, such as Aaron Judge receiving a nine-year, $360 million contract with the New York Yankees and Trea Turner agreeing to an 11-year, $300 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.

When it comes to a namesake in the MLB offseason, look no further than sports agent Scott Boras. He has represented some of the top names in baseball, and they usually are able to receive lucrative contracts from teams. That was the case this season.

Boras agents who have agreed to terms to contracts this MLB offseason so far have a total value of $1.01 billion!

Scott Boras clients have cashed in on contracts worth over $1 billion in total so far

Having two of the top shortstop free agents would certainly help bring the total value in contracts go over $1 billion.

The San Diego Padres were desperate to add a top-tier free agent this winter, as they made lucrative offers to both Judge and Turner, but were turned down. So, they pivoted to Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts, and signed him to an 11-year, $280 million contract.

Carlos Correa remained on the open market after the Turner and Bogaerts signings, and he received reported interest from the Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, and even the New York Mets. Ultimately, it was the Giants who won out, signing Correa to a monstrous 13-year, $350 million contract. Much like the Padres, the Giants missed out on Judge, and they pivoted to the top free agent available.

The other free agents rounding out the top five are outfielder Brandon Nimmo, Masataka Yoshida, and pitcher Taijuan Walker. Nimmo re-signed with the New York Mets on an eight-year, $162 million contract. Yoshida is heading to the AL East, signing a five-year, $90 million deal with the Boston Red Sox. Walker is heading from the Mets to join the rival Phillies on a four-year, $72 million deal.

Boras’ total value on contracts this offseason could grow even more, as starting pitcher Carlos Rodon remains unsigned.

UPDATE: Rodon reached an agreement with the New York Yankees on Thursday night. According to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, the deal is for six-years, worth $162 million total.

You can now add $162 million to the $1.01 billion that Boras clients have earned this offseason.

Next. Carlos Correa’s mega-contract has 3 winners and 1 clear loser. dark
