Jon Heyman will never live down his “Arson Judge” tweet as many online still laugh about it, including the New York Yankees. Heyman reported that said Aaron Judge replacement sign with the Giants.

MLB insider Jon Heyman made a huge mistake when trying to break (incorrect) news on Aaron Judge. He Tweeted out that “Arson Judge” will be signing with the San Francisco Giants, which is a rough autocorrect we can all relate to.

Judge ultimately re-signed with the New York Yankees, and to show their excitement, they Tweeted that they’re “fired up” and posted a gif of Judge in flames.

It may or may not be a hit at Heyman, but it definitely seems likely with their choice of emoji following their statement.

Judge is truly ‘on fire,’ however (pun intended), and the Yanks are lucky to have him around for another nine seasons.

Yankees are smart to keep Aaron Judge around

The Yankees have a lot of work to do if they want to become the championship favorites they once were. They’re focused on roster development, and they’ve done a great job this offseason with signings.

Judge’s contract was significant (the largest contract in MLB history) and he made a solid case of earning that with a historic season. During the 2022 regular season, he broke a 61-year-old home run record with 62 homers during the regular season. He also led the league in several hitting stats and was in talks of earning a Triple Crown, the most prestigious award in baseball.

The Yanks did finish atop the AL East, but the team likely would’ve looked a lot different without Judge. He was a huge source of power in the lineup and played powerfully defensively as well. He was certainly one of the most impactful players in New York, and he helped fill any gaps that were present.

Without Judge, the Yankees would have a void that’s nearly impossible to fill.
