First off, when it comes to his fit with the Chiefs, Sanu already has a connection. He and All-Pro Travis Kelce even spoke recently about joining forces.

“I talked to Travis (Kelce) actually a little while ago about it .. sayin’ like, ‘Hey man, I would take so much pressure off you,’ because he has a great skill set of getting open in the middle, and I see myself having that great skill set as well.”

He has a point, here. Kelce is one of the best there is at getting himself open across the middle. But, Mahomes could use another one of those types on the field at the same time.

We’ve all seen the plays where things break down and Mahomes is able to make magic happen. But, the lack of experience on their depth chart could come back to bite them eventually.

Sanu has always been known as a route technician. He’s still able to cut and move as well as ever, and with the mental aspect he brings, he’ll bring that make-shift ability to Kansas City. When Mahomes is scrambling and trying to pull the rabbit out of his hat, it’s Sanu who could be the guy he finds, due to the mental wherewithal to understand where the play’s headed and where he needs to be.
