Watch Raiders’ iconic sideline reaction to Patriots’ dumbest play of all time
Derek Carr and the Raiders’ sideline had an incredible reaction to Chandler Jones’ unexpected touchdown to beat the Patriots.
It didn’t matter if you were a Raiders fan or just a neutral observer, the ending of Sunday’s game between the Raiders and Patriots had just about everyone freaking out.
We can include Derek Carr in that.
The Raiders quarterback was sitting on the bench watching like the rest of us. At first, he was disinterested, then stunned as Chandler Jones intercepted an ill-advised backwards pass and took it to the endzone.
The reaction shot is the stuff of legends.

The range of emotions that went through Carr and the rest of the Las Vegas sideline was immense. One minute, the focus is on what’s to come in overtime. The next second, everything has turned on its head and you’ve got a victory because of the boneheadedness of the other team.
Vegas is still technically in the playoff hunt with games against the Steelers, 49ers and Chiefs remaining. Granted, the New York Times gives them a six percent chance of making it, but they’re not eliminated yet, thanks in part to that epic victory. Winning out would give them a 59 percent chance of a postseason berth.
That ending happening in favor of the Raiders was particularly hilarious given their own late-game woes. They’ve blown four double-digit halftime leads this season and were on the verge of another one, as the Patriots flipped a 17-3 deficit to take a 24-17 lead with just under four minutes to play.
Carr managed to tie things up with a controversial 30-yard touchdown to Keelan Cole with 32 seconds remaining. That’s when everyone expected the Patriots to run out the clock and head for overtime. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
