Why Vikings can win the Super Bowl: The Schedule

Right now, the Vikings are in the driver’s seat to be the two-seed in the playoffs. Minnesota has a slim shot at the number-one seed, which gets even better if Jalen Hurts is going to miss some time. Still, we expect the Philadelphia Eagles to take that number-one seed in the NFC. That leaves the Vikings fighting for number two.

The San Francisco 49ers are one game behind, but they play three teams who are desperate for wins as they fight for a playoff spot. That includes a matchup with the desperate Washington Commanders this week. Expect the 49ers to lose one more game this season, especially as teams figure out Brock Purdy.

So, if the Vikings do get that seven seed, things will get interesting. Right now, the Vikings are set to face the Washington Commanders. The Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions are also in the hunt there. It’s safe to say the Vikings should be highly favored there. Next, the Vikings will likely play the 49ers. The Cowboys will likely beat the Buccaneers or whoever wins from the putrid NFC South. So, the Vikings get the aforementioned Purdy. This defense should be able to take care of business there.

The Cowboys and Eagles will likely play in the Divisional Round. That one is going to feel like a championship game. Whoever wins will be prone to a letdown, and the Vikings have been in this situation before and won. Let Kirk Cousins do it again.
