3 best D.J. Uiagalelei transfer destinations after Signing Day including surprise contender
By John Buhler
D.J. Uiagalelei could play for Jeff Tedford as a potential Jake Haener replacement
One place to keep an eye on would have to be Fresno State. It may not be a Power Five team, but the Bulldogs would be a terrific landing spot for Uiagalelei to reinvent himself to salvage a once-promising NFL future for him. Not only would Uiagalelei get to play in his native California, but he would, in theory, be re replacing Jake Haener at quarterback and playing for the iconic Jeff Tedford.
Fresno State is not only a place where Uiagalelei can refine his skills, but can help the Bulldogs push for championships out of the Group of Five. Assuming Uiagalelei does not want his COVID year to count, he would have two years of eligibility to use. This is plenty of time for him to learn, grow and play for one of the best quarterback whisperers college football has and will ever see.
Of course, this all has to align, but there are few places that would make more sense than Fresno.
Could D.J. Uiagalelei become the greatest Hawaiian organ donor since McLovin?
The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have entered the chat. Yes, that team in the Mountain West. Timmy Chang may be leading his alma mater’s program, but Hawaii is in dire need of some juice, perhaps more than any program at the FBS level right now? One way to do that is to get a former five-star to transfer in and pass for all the yards in the world. Is DJ U about to be a Hawaiian organ donor?
He is no McLovin, as no one is on par with the GOAT Irish R&B singer or the sexiest of hamburgers, but DJ U could totally carve up the Mountain West as the Rainbow Warriors make their return to semi-national relevance. You would have even more reason to stay up very late besides being a total degenerate now. There is also a chance this pairing is so strange that it might in fact work.
The more you think about it, Hawaii offers a lot of what Uiagalelei may be looking for in the portal.
