The Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the NFL and are on their way to the NFC’s No.1 seed. Here is why they may, or may not, be champs in the end.

At 13-1 through 15 weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles hold the best record in all of football and are a shoo-in for the NFC’s top seed in the playoffs. They are inarguably the most complete team in the league.

In a year that featured the NFC East as the most competitive division in the NFL, the Birds ran away with their first division title since 2019. The Cowboys have looked unstoppable at times, and yet, have forked up inexcusable games to the Jaguars, Packers, and Buccaneers. The Eagles simply haven’t made those mistakes. They know exactly who they are and have a swagger to them that makes the team appear untouchable.

All of that said, there are obviously a number of reasons to believe they could win it all in 2022, but there is still one reason why they won’t.

Why the Eagles can win the Super Bowl reason 1: Takeaways

With 25 total takeaways thus far, the Eagles are second to only the Cowboys (26) in forced turnovers. They average 1.8 takeaways per game, and truly appear to play defense with the exclusive intention of stealing the football. That may sound like a general rule of defensive football, but there is something different about Philly.

Whether they are on your TV, or you’re passively monitoring their games on Sundays, the Birds are persistently flocking to the ball. The way they play defense makes it tough to take your eyes off of them, and it sets them apart in a big way. Of course, it’s the Cowboys who are a tick ahead of them in this metric, but the Eagles simply seem to be tougher. They truly embody the old sentiment of a team you don’t want to see in January.
