5 best fantasy football pickups to make for Week 17

1. Best fantasy football pickups for Week 17: RB Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons
Rostered: 39.2%
Allgeier has emerged as the lead back in Atlanta. On Saturday, he had 22 touches, while Cordarrelle Patterson had only nine touches. Allgeier finished the game with 117 scrimmage yards.
Allgeier has been building momentum over the second half of the season. He has topped 50 rushing yards in five consecutive games. In Week 15, he had 17 carries for 139 yards and a touchdown.
Allgeier is quietly having a fantastic season. With two games left to play, he is only 206 rushing yards away from breaking the Falcons’ rookie record. In addition, he is tied for fifth in the NFL in yards after contact per rushing attempt (2.2). Allgeier is playing at a high level, and the Falcons should continue to give the rookie opportunities to produce. That combination makes him the most valuable player on the waiver wire.
Moving forward, he is a legitimate RB1 option. He should be rostered in all leagues.
