RG3 was on the alternate broadcast for the Fiesta Bowl between Michigan and TCU when he rushed off excitedly after finding out his wife is in labor.

TCU vs. Michigan in the Fiesta Bowl as the first College Football Playoff semifinal was about as wild as you could possibly imagine. The two teams threatened to make it the highest-scoring CFP game of all time, there were a ridiculous 44 points scored in the third quarter alone, both teams had turnovers and crazy big plays, and it was all too exciting.

Oh, and we had RG3 on one of the ESPN broadcasts rushing off the set because his wife went into labor.

The former Baylor QB and No. 2 overall NFL Draft pick was on the ESPN2 alternate broadcast for the TCU vs. Michigan game and was on the sidelines. All of a sudden, he got a phone call while on the air and then began frantically moving before dapping up his cohorts and then running off the set. He then clarified on Twitter that he ran off because his wife went into labor.

RG3 bolts from Fiesta Bowl broadcast as wife goes into labor

For a game that fans would already say “had everything”, this might be the most literal interpretation of that with an on-air personality leaving the broadcast because his wife went into labor.

And though we don’t want to assume anything, RG3 bolting might’ve been a gift for Michigan somehow. At the time all this happened, they were trailing big by a score of 41-22. They then pulled the score to 51-45 with a few minutes left in the fourth quarter, going on a 23-10 run after RG3’s wife went into labor.

If the Wolverines pull off the comeback entirely, Griffin III might have to consider making the new baby a Michigan fan.
