The Tampa Bay Buccaneers control their own destiny. Unfortunately, that’s proven tougher than expected.

No team really deserves to win the NFC South. All four teams are under the .500 mark, and were all defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers. If that’s not a sign, nothing is.

Still, because of the NFL’s outdated divisional format, one of Tampa Bay or Carolina (most likely) will make the NFC postseason. The winner of the division could very well be decided by Sunday’s game, as Tampa Bay controls its own fate, and a win over the Panthers clinches a playoff spot.

Should Carolina win, the Panthers would clinch a postseason spot with a win next week against the New Orleans Saints.

Tom Brady tries to flop against Panthers, refs don’t fall for it

Give the officiating crew some credit here, as Tom Brady holds a lot of weight in NFL circles. Not giving him what he wants — especially when seemingly pushed to the ground after the play –is a bold choice.

Yet, the officials made the right call, as Brady was lightly shoved and then flopped backwards like a sardine. TB12 did not react well to that, either, as he yelled in frustration towards the refs.

Brady tried to pick a war of words with Carolina defenders Derrick Brown and Bravvion Roy, but they didn’t bite, as that could’ve resulted in taunting or a personal foul.

It’s been a tough season for Brady, on and off the field. Rumors about his personal life and marriage have distracted from Tampa Bay’s on-field product, which has been putrid to say the least. While some of that falls on Todd Bowles, this is Brady’s team, and fans are used to greatness from a player who can only be described as the best quarterback of all-time.
