Boston Bruins fans didn’t hold back their feelings — or rage — when Red Sox owner John Henry arrived at Fenway Park for the Winter Classic.

A new year has begun but the same old animosity held by Red Sox fans toward the organization remains.

To say it’s been a rough offseason for the Red Sox is to tremendously undersell how underwhelming things have been. Boston allowed Xander Bogaerts to walk in free agency, let Nathan Eovaldi go to the Rangers, didn’t get in on any of the big name free agents on the market, and seem to be on a collision course with Rafael Devers that may create an unrepairable rift.

Needless to say,  Red Sox fans are not impressed.

Despite being one of the most globally known sports brands and a big market ballclub, the Red Sox seem hellbent to pinch every penny and save every buck. FOr what is unclear, but what is very apparent is that Red Sox fans have already seen enough and aren’t staying quiet about how badly they think the team is being run.

Red Sox owner John Henry arrived at Fenway for the Winter Classic and Boston fans were waiting for him and ready to let him know what they really think about how the Red Sox are being run.

It’s Boston, so it’s hard to feel bad for fans, but it’s easy to sympathize with the frustrations. Crocodile tears are often the kind shed over the pain and sorrow of Boston sports fans, but it’s pretty remarkable that the franchise seems to hold so much power yet wants to do so little with it.

The Red Sox should be able to afford Xander Bogaerts and are the kind of team that other franchise are trying to outbid for the services of top free agents. Yet, when the team does nothing to improve yet raises prices on fans, it’s not hard to be on even the side of Boston sports fans.
