Footage released of Odell Beckham Jr. plane incident from November (Video)
The body cam footage of free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. being removed from a plane at Miami International Airport in November was released.
Odell Beckham Jr. had to be escorted off a plane in Miami the Sunday after Thanksgiving and now we have video of how it all went down.
WPLG Local 10 News got their hands on the body cam footage from officers who were called to take the wide receiver off the plane.
Apparently, he wouldn’t buckle his seatbelt and was “belligerent” toward the crew. As a result, the pilot turned the plane around to return to the gate so OBJ could be removed.
Footage of OBJ being escorted off plane has emerged
Here’s some uncut footage, including a discussion over the wide receiver’s state of being, whether or not Beckham was wearing pants and arguments between OBJ and other passengers.
The video shows officers arriving and evaluating Beckham Jr. medically. After determining that he was fine medically, just tired, officers spoke to flight attendants who complained about Beckham being unresponsive to their directives and the difficulty around getting Beckham to put on his seat belt while also expressing concern over his dazed demeanor.
At some point, officers approached Beckham in his seat and told him that if he didn’t willingly leave, all the passengers on the plane would have to get off so that he could be removed. The wide receiver said, “That’s fine.”
As passengers gathered their belongings to deplane, at least one argued with OBJ about the inconvenience.
“That s— don’t mean nothing to me,” Beckham said. “You gonna wait 40 minutes and I’ll be on a private plane home.”
Basically, Beckham comes off as a jerk.
Ultimately, this incident isn’t a good look for Beckham Jr. but it’s hard to believe it’ll have much of an impact on his free agency as he searches for a new team. He didn’t play in 2022 while recovering from the knee injury he sustained in the Super Bowl, though he apparently flirted with the Cowboys and others.
