Twins aggressiveness could continue with a Max Fried trade with the Braves

It most certainly was not the most direct route for the Twins to bring Carlos Correa back to Minnesota after playing there for the 2022 season, but it’s happening. And the star shortstop should be in the Twin Cities for the rest of his prime. The starting rotation is also in good shape as this team continues to look to take steps forward.

Joe Ryan is coming off of his first full season in the majors and he looked like a potential ace for the staff. At the very least, he’s a stalwart No. 2 option. Beyond that, Sonny Gray was a stud last season and could continue to enjoy a career resurgence in Minnesota. Then there are others like Bailey Winder, newcomer Kenta Maeda, and more that the Twins could make waves with.

But even if the numbers are good, is there truly anyone in that group — outside of the potential with Ryan — that strikes the fear of god in opponents? No, right? That’s where the front office could continue to try and make big splashes and going after someone like Max Fried by making a trade with the Braves.

Let’s be honest, with the way the White Sox have fallen short and how the Guardians front office appears to be ready to operate, the AL Central remains a wide-open race. If the Twins want to take control of the division after landing Correa, than swinging for the fences with a Fried trade would be a logical next move.
