When will AFC Championship tickets for Chiefs-Bills in Atlanta go on sale?

The 2023 version of the NFL Postseason is only going to get more intriguing and, in some respects, controversial.

When the Cincinnati Bengals hosted the Buffalo Bills a few weeks ago, no one had a clue the game would end up being canceled after a tragic injury to Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

But, because of that night, the playoffs were altered for the rest of the year. The AFC Championship Game will now be played at a neutral site, should the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills make it to that point.

Due to the neutral site holding the contest, fans will now have a unique option to buy tickets to the game in Atlanta. Should Kansas City and Buffalo square off, the game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

AFC Championship: Chiefs vs. Bills ticket information

AFC Championship Game tickets will officially go on sale the morning of Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. ET

Needless to say, the playing of said AFC Championship Game at a neutral site has not gone over well with all fans, and neither did the decision for this weekend’s game. However, the league didn’t have much of a choice when it came to respecting the health and safety of Hamlin and both teams involved.

Because the Bills finished with more wins (13-3) than the Bengals (12-4) this weekend’s game between the two teams will take place in Buffalo. But, had the Bengals beaten Buffalo a few weeks ago, this game would be taking place in Cincinnati.

It is what it is, at this stage in the game, and both teams will have to play the cards they were dealt.

As for the Chiefs, they host the AFC South Champion Jacksonville Jaguars this Saturday in a Divisional Round matchup. Should they move on with a win over Jacksonville, it will be up to the Bills to take care of business at home against the Bengals.

Then, history will be made with an AFC Championship Game played at a neutral location.
