3 best early contenders to trade for Derek Carr in 2023 offseason

New York Jets are a competent quarterback away from being something special
The sooner the New York Jets can kick Zach Wilson to the curb, the sooner Gang Green can finally get this right. Robert Saleh seems to have the gravitas to become a great head coach. Joe Douglas has amassed a great deal of talent, but the Wilson debacle will tell the tale of his time in New York. Should they trade for Carr, the Jets might finally be able to take flight. Carr can change everything.
Again, many of the same issues that hurt the Commanders’ case to get him plagued the Jets. They play in a tough division, they just fired their offensive coordinator in Mike LaFleur and ownership has been a major issue since Woody Johnson bought the team. What makes this a better landing spot for Carr than Washington is they seem to have the right head coach and GM.
However, New York plays in the same division as the Buffalo Bills. Carr has had to deal with the Andy Reid era of Kansas City Chiefs football throughout his entire time with the Silver and Black, so this would be nothing new for him. On paper, the Jets might be slightly more talented than the Commanders. Should he win big with Gang Green, Carr will be heading to Canton in 15 years or so.
An advantage to trading Carr to the Jets is the Raiders would be able to command more for him.
