Best NBA prop bets today for Nets vs. Sixers (Seth Curry has been hot)
By Peter Dewey
Wednesday’s primetime action features the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers but it’s possible both teams will be without their best players.
Kevin Durant has already been ruled out for Brooklyn, and Joel Embiid (foot, questionable) could miss this game for Philly.
That’s created some value in the prop market, especially if Embiid ends up sitting. Here are three props to target for this Eastern Conference showdown:
Nets vs. Sixers best NBA prop bets
- Nicolas Claxton OVER 9.5 Rebounds
- James Harden UNDER 21.5 Points
- Seth Curry OVER 16.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists
Nicolas Claxton OVER 9.5 Rebounds
The Sixers rank 25th in the NBA in rebounding percentage this season, and they could be without Embiid, their best rebounder in this matchup.
Nicolas Claxton has picked up 11 or more rebounds in five of his last seven games, moving his season average to 8.7 per game. He’d have a major size advantage on Montrezl Harrell if Embiid sits, so I love Clax to have a big game on the glass tonight.
James Harden UNDER 21.5 Points
James Harden is actually averaging less points per game when Embiid sits this season, but either way he’s hovering around 21 per game.
The Nets have been much better defensively than many expected, ranking eighth in the NBA in defensive rating.
Harden has been an inconsistent scorer as of late, going under 21.5 points in five of his last eight games. If Embiid does end up suiting up, this number is too high for my liking for Harden.
Seth Curry OVER 16.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists
Seth Curry has cleared 16.5 points, rebounds and assists in eight of his last 10 games, and he’s been forced into a bigger offensive role with Kevin Durant out.
Over this 10-game stretch, Curry is nearly clearing this prop on points alone, averaging 14.8 per game while taking 10.6 shots and 5.4 3-pointers per contest.
The Sixers are a solid defensive team, but if they hone their focus on Kyrie Irving (who has been great as a passer lately), Curry could be a prime beneficiary in this game.
