6 winners and losers of the 2023 MLB offseason

Loser: Milwaukee Brewers

I understand why the Milwaukee Brewers were inactive this offseason. They have to keep their eyes on the future as they attempt to extend Willy Adames, Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff, who could command as much as $500 million combined.

For a small market team, it will be almost impossible to keep all of them, and surely the Brewers understand that.

Which is why I thought that the Brewers should have added more to give their team the best shot to win with Adames, Burnes and Woodruff on their roster. They added William Contreras, who is an All-Star option behind the plate. They added infielder/outfielder Brian Anderson and pitcher Wade Miley on one-year deals.

But the Brewers should have done more to maximize their chances of winning in 2023. Perhaps new general manager Matt Arnold could make an additional move or two to change that narrative. After all, there are two months before the start of the regular season. For right now, their offseason feels underwhelming.
