MLB Spring Training is right around the corner. For those fans interested in heading down to south Florida or Arizona, just how much will it cost to enter the ballpark?

With Spring Training right around the corner, some fans may be interested in attending the games in person. For those of us raised on the sport itself, a ball hitting a mitt is the first sign of spring, and to witness that event in the warm weather of the Grapefruit or Cactus League is a sight to behold.

Pitchers and catchers will report to the team facilities by mid-February, while the rest of the team will join them shortly thereafter. Spring training games don’t start until late in the month.

How much are MLB Spring Training tickets?

The cheapest spring training ticket goes for a little over $20, just as it would for a normal game. The allure of baseball in the spring should ware off by mid-March, where some tickets will be far cheaper.

For box seats, or some of the more appealing Spring Training tickets, the cost can go up to $400 in certain ballparks. Such is life in Florida or Arizona, where baseball fans have been waiting for an opportunity to watch their favorite players take the field again.

Is MLB Spring Training free?

Considering the price of airfare and housing, ST is far from free. Tickets themselves can cost over $20 apiece, which for some teams is more than a regular-season game (looking at you, Pittsburgh Pirates). MLBTV offers live streams of Spring Training games for free — or at least some of them — with a subscription. With that in mind, it might be more ideal to watch from the comfort of your home, unless you’d prefer to make a vacation out of it.

How to watch MLB Spring Training games

Some games are made available on local broadcast networks, but for the most part the best bet is to watch on MLBTV. Some games are not available, as local networks must carry the game (or a national broadcast) for MLBTV to carry the game as well.
