NBA trade rumors: 3 potential teams for Kyrie Irving after unexpected trade request

Teams that could trade for Kyrie Irving: Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks lost Jalen Brunson to free agency and moved Luka Doncic to more of a point guard role and backfilled the two spot with Spencer Dinwiddie, who they acquired midway through last season.
While that has worked out generally for the Mavs, fourth in the Western Conference at 28-25, they feel like they’re a significant piece or two away from the Denver Nuggets, and maybe even the Memphis Grizzlies, in the Western Conference.
The Mavs need to capitalize on their title window. Doncic should be a core member and their leading star for years to come, but if you can win now, why not go after it? Irving gives the Mavs a legit opportunity to finally get past the Western Conference Finals.
The upside for Dallas here is that they can actually try Irving on for size and, if it doesn’t work out, say ‘see ya!’ in the offseason when Irving is a free agent. The trade-off of the possibility of Kyrie drama makes sense for a team like Dallas who has to win at all costs as much as possible while Doncic is in his prime.
