In a fight that lasted longer but was more one-sided than their original encounter, Ryan Bader successfully retained the Bellator heavyweight championship against the legendary Fedor Emelianenko in Emelianenko’s retirement fight at Bellator 290.

Bader will go down in history as the only man to have defeated Emelianenko twice.

Bader got the better of Emelianenko early on, landing several times on Emelianenko, whose hands were noticeably down. A right hand from Bader dropped Emelianenko, with Bader going into top position.

Bader continued to bust up Emelianenko on the ground, with blood going into Emelianenko’s eyes and the nose of “The Last Emperor” seemingly broken.

In less than three minutes, the referee stopped the fight.
