Since David Tepper purchased the Carolina Panthers, all of the buzz around the NFL has been that he is near-obsessed with finding the quarterback that will guide the franchise to immense success. His actions have backed that up, too.
Whether it was trading for Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield, trying to trade for Deshaun Watson in spite of the legal situation, or a number of other quarterbacks the Panthers have been connected to in recent years, they’ve not found that answer. Lamar Jackson, however, is the most talented player they would have a shot at.
So if they get aggressive, they can move their draft capital to get the guy. Here’s what a Panthers trade package could look like.
There’s a lot to like about this Panthers roster right now and adding Jackson to it could be quite special. Yes, Carolina would need to add more weapons outside of D.J. Moore, but this trade wouldn’t completely rob them of the potential to keep adding to the roster while allowing Tepper and the front office to find the answer at quarterback.
With Jackson on this offense alongside Moore, a good offensive line, a talented young defense and a new coaching staff under Frank Reich, this could be a fascinating pairing to make in Charlotte.
