1. Falcons could be in Lamar Jackson or Bust mode in the trade market

With everyone murmuring about the possibility of a Lamar Jackson trade since midway through the regular season, the one team that seems to come into the conversation every time is the Atlanta Falcons, often at the front of the line. And it makes sense why.

After trading Matt Ryan last offseason — a move that looked smarter by the week as he struggled in Indianapolis — the Falcons knew that they would be limiting the ceiling at quarterback immediately. Marcus Mariota was lackluster and Desmond Ridder is far from proven, though inexperienced still.

If Atlanta wanted to bypass an uncertain waiting game, though, then they could offer this Lamar Jackson trade package to the Ravens.

Giving up a first- and third-round pick in this and next year’s drafts would be a steep price but it could be worth it. Atlanta has a bevy of mid-rounders coming next year in the draft thanks to the Calvin Ridley trade and could load up the roster (or move more) using those.

The simple truth of the matter, though, is that the Falcons have a question mark in Ridder. Jackson would erase that question mark and put him in an offense that should cater to him given the talent that Atlanta has invested in at the skill positions in recent years like Kyle Pitts and Drake London.
