The defensive tackle market is fluid this offseason, and the Eagles have two major free agents coming up. Linval Joseph is an Eagles free agent along with Javon Hargrave. Joseph is much older, and he only spent one season with the Eagles. Hargrave was a phenomenal signing when the Eagles gave him three years back in 2020.

It was a huge risk to sign Hargrave back then for $39 million. The Eagles saw something in Hargrave to turn him from a risk to a massive bargain. Despite this, the Eagles should let him go to free agency.

Someone is going to give Hargrave a hefty salary this offseason. The Eagles have around $8 million in cap space prior to any Jalen Hurts extension. We all know the salary cap is basically there for show and teams can figure it out, but signing Hargrave to a huge contract would make things complicated for Philadelphia.

The Eagles can find other defensive tackles. They found Ndamukong Suh in the middle of this past season. There are always veterans who can be had at any time.
