Shane Steichen coaching history: Where did he coach before Colts?
Shane Steichen has been hired as the new Indianapolis Colts head coach. We look at his coaching history to see his career that led to Indy.
It became clear leading up to Super Bowl 57 that a few NFL teams were waiting on the game to end in order to make their head coaching hire. One such team was the Indianapolis Colts, who made that statement even truer on Tuesday morning when they announced the hiring of former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen to be their next head coach.
The Colts spent roughly half the season with literally-never-coached-in-the-NFL and former center Jeff Saturday as their interim head coach after the decision to fire Frank Reich, who was hired this offseason by the Panthers. Saturday was a candidate to be retained. However, Jim Irsay and the brass in Indianapolis elected to go with the up-and-coming Steichen after he helped guide Jalen Hurts and the Eagles to the Super Bowl.
But who is the new head man in Indy? Let’s take a look at the Shane Steichen coaching history to see how he worked his way up the NFL coaching ranks to get the job with the Colts.
