Most LIV Golf rumors have surrounded PGA players defecting to the Saudi-backed upstart. But it appears as though Brooks Koepka wants a mulligan.

Is Brooks Koepka having buyer’s remorse? One golf insider says, yes. According to Alan Shipnuck of The Fire Pit Collective, there are a lot of rumblings that Koepka may be regretting the decision he made last year to join LIV Golf.

You knew this was going to happen sooner or later, right? There was a mass exodus from the PGA Tour last year. Many golfers saw dollar signs and joined the Greg Norman-led LIV Golf.

Among them were Phil Mickelson, Paul Casey, Bryson DeChambeau, and yes, Brooks Koepka. The 32-year-old is a four-time major champion and was the No. 1 player in golf for 47 weeks from 2018-2019.

LIV Golf rumors: Brooks Koepka regretting defection from PGA Tour.

These latest LIV Golf rumors should not come as a shock to many. As Shipnuck says, Brooks Koepka has one of the biggest egos in golf. Maybe some of the changes heading into the PGA Tour this season have Koepka rethinking his decision.

After so many defections last year, the PGA Tour made some alterations that commissioner Jay Monahan is hoping will increase the eyeballs on the sport. The newly “elevated” tournaments are designed to attract the best players to commit to playing in the same events.

You have to think that these LIV Golf rumors are music to Monahan’s ears. You could argue that the PGA Tour was losing the PR battle with the LIV Golf last year, despite where the league’s money was coming from.

But, if one of those who defected and went to Saudi-backed golf league returns to the PGA Tour, what a huge story that would be. For now, these are just rumors, but as the golf season unfolds, there could be some intriguing scenarios in which a few of these LIV Golfers admit their mistake and want to return to the dance with the date that brought them.
