Derek Carr’s first Tweet after signing with Saints will give fans chills
By Josh Wilson
Derek Carr is reportedly signing with the Saints. He confirmed the news by Tweeting an epic video that will have Who Dat nation loving him.
The New Orleans Saints got their guy. After languishing with Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton, and at times, Taysom Hill as quarterback in the years since Drew Brees retired, New Orleans has its firmest answer under center. Derek Carr and the team have reportedly agreed to a multi-year deal.
Carr moves from black and silver to black and gold and reunites with Dennis Allen in the process.
Though it looked like the New York Jets were pulling ahead on Sunday afternoon, the Saints’ confidence appeared to be true. It’s unclear what they did — if anything — to get the deal agreed upon on Monday, or if it was a confluence of factors.

Carr Tweeted out a video, with a caption of “Who dat” and a fleur-de-lis, of Tyrann Mathieu starting the “Who Dat” chant at a home game last season.
2022 was rough for Saints fans. The team languished and did not look good… At all. They missed the playoffs and were only in the running for a berth at the end because the entire NFC South was hot garbage.
Injuries certainly held the team back, but there were problems with the coaching and an all-around lack of talent.
The most encouraging thing about this signing is that the front office was clearly convicted in its pursuit of Carr, and did not waver. Ultimately, they got their guy. Whether you agree with him being a worthy option or not, the team was clearly not convicted on Winston or Dalton. Now, they have someone they can put their confidence in.
The Saints were the only team to agree to terms on a trade with the Raiders just to get him in their building first. Then, they continued to express their desire even as he met with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers. They rolled out the red carpet for him, and it worked.
He could be the missing piece that gets this team back to the playoffs.
Who Dat Nation will love Carr, and clearly, Carr already loves Who Dat Nation.
Pretty soon we’ll find out if anyone gon’ beat ‘dem Saints.
