2. Donovan Wilson, S

Wilson has developed into one of the best safeties in the league. Last season, he led all safeties in both pressures (12) and sacks (5.0). As a pass rusher, he utilizes his speed on the edge. It is hard for offensive linemen and running backs to keep up with him:

Wilson also has great awareness, which makes him an effective blitzer:

In pass coverage, Wilson is among the league’s best. Last season, he allowed a completion percentage of only 51.3 percent when targeted, which was the third-best mark among safeties.

In summary, Wilson is the complete package at safety. Obviously, it is in the Cowboys’ best interest to re-sign him, but like Schultz, there should be plenty of competition. A team with more cap space could realistically outbid the Cowboys during negotiations. The Bengals and Colts are two teams with positive cap space that need a safety.

Wilson and Schultz will be key names to watch during free agency.
