After 20 years, can Arsenal take the top of the table in the Premier League?

Arsenal has always been a champion-caliber team in the Premier League, but for the last few years, 20 years to be exact, Arsenal has not been the type of team that everyone remembers.

With the way that Arsenal is playing in the Premier League right now, they are sitting at the top of the Premier League board — placing them in the best spot to be able to win the Premier League which has not happened for this club since the 2003-04 season.

The birth of the “Invincibles” of the Premier League

In the 2003-04 season, Arsenal was the team to beat during the whole season, but no other club could find a way to do it. Under the supervision of legendary manager Arsene Wenger, the team ran out to a record of 26-12-0. This was the first time in 115 years, that a team went unbeaten for the whole season. This strong incredible fate could have not been possible without some of the special players including their captain Patrick Vieira, Ashley Cole, and Robert Pires.

It was an incredible season that they had, beating teams like Liverpool, and Manchester City, and also drawing with Manchester United. Thanks to those big wins and draws, Arsenal was able to comfortably take the title by an 11-point margin over the second-place Chelsea. There have been many teams that have been able to produce strong unbeaten streaks but the 2003-04 Arsenal club is still the only team to ever go unbeaten in the Premier League.

Chances of Arsenal staying at the top and winning

If Arsenal keeps playing as they are playing right now, they will be able to lift the Premier League hardware again. As of right now, Arsenal is the favorite to win the title. Will this happen though and can they break the 20-year drought of not being number 1? Only time will be able to tell.
