Let’s take a look at some of the latest MLB news, including Freddie Freeman’s injury at the World Baseball Classic, New York Yankees fans reminding Joey Gallo of his struggles in the Bronx, and a new member of the Boston Red Sox earning an impressive WBC award.

We start with the World Baseball Classic and some of the news surrounding Team Canada and one of its leading players, Freddie Freeman of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

During Canada’s 5-0 win over Colombia on Tuesday, Freddie Freeman went 0-for-2 before being replaced in the bottom of the fourth inning after suffering tightness in his hamstring. Freeman reportedly injured his hamstring in the third inning but stayed in for one more frame.

MLB news: Freddie Freeman injury pushes him out of WBC Pool C play

The injury will keep Freeman out of Wednesday’s pivotal pool game against Mexico, with the Canadians needing a win to earn a spot in the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals in Miami.

There is no guarantee that Freeman will be available for Canada should the team advance out of Pool C, leaving exactly how the Dodgers and Canada will proceed with Freeman’s usage in the tournament up in the air.
