The group stages of the World Baseball Classic are near their conclusions. For Pool C, it has been confirmed that Mexico will advance to the quarterfinal round after their 10-3 win over Canada on Wednesday, March 15. What is not known is who will be the runner-up of the pool.
At 10:00 p.m. ET, Team USA has a chance to advance to the quarterfinals and continue the defense of their World Baseball Classic title. But the team that is standing in their way is Columbia.

It’s pretty simple for Team USA, a win virtually guarantees them a berth in the quarterfinals. But, they can still get in with a loss.
With Mexico winning, the United States can lose to Colombia and still advance to the quarterfinals, but only if they lose by four or fewer runs. If they lose by more than four runs, then they will be eliminated, allowing Colombia to advance, per Baseball America.
