3 WRs not named OBJ the Chiefs should consider adding
1. DeAndre Hopkins
At this juncture of the offseason, there are not too many notable free-agent receivers available. This is why the Chiefs should also be exploring the trade market for a new receiver. There is one major fish who is actively being shopped right now, as the Arizona Cardinals are aiming to move DeAndre Hopkins before the start of the regular season.
The Chiefs have been linked to Hopkins, and it is quite easy to understand. After all, he is still an effective, high-impact wide receiver who would make their already-strong offense even better. He also has the potential to create real magic with Mahomes and put up very high offensive totals because of it. This is why, at least in my opinion, he should be the Chiefs’ primary wide receiver target from here.
Hopkins appeared in just nine games this past season with the Cardinals, but he was effective when utilized. During those contests, he recorded three touchdowns, 64 receptions, and 717 receiving yards. Overall, it was another solid year for the five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, but he has the potential to do far more with Mahomes as his QB.
Several teams are making a push for Hopkins, so the Chiefs need to act quickly if they want to successfully acquire. We will need to wait and see if they do just that from here.
