Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan’s daughter tried to throw the Toronto Raptors off of their game in the NBA play-in tournament by screaming at them, and it worked.

The Chicago Bulls entered Wednesday to keep their season alive. After finishing the regular-season in 10th-place in the Eastern Conference with an 40-42 record, they were only in contention for the eighth seed. But to do so, they would first have to get past the Toronto Raptors, who finished ninth this season. A loss in Toronto would end the Bulls’ season.

As it turns out, the Bulls did get a helping hand from DeMar DeRozan’s daughter, Diar.

If you were tuned into the game broadcasted on ESPN, you probably heard some screaming every time a Raptors players attempted a free throw. Later on, it was discovered that the screaming came from DeRozan’s daughter, who was trying to throw Toronto off of their game at the free throw line.

The strategy was effective, as the Raptors were 12-for-24 at one point in the game!

Diar’s the MVP for the Bulls. There’s no debate.

At halftime, Chicago trailed 58-47 after watching Toronto star guard Fred VanVleet hit a clutch jump shot at the buzzer from the midcourt logo at Scotiabank Arena.

Luckily for the Bulls, they caught on in the fourth quarter, actually taking their first lead of the game since they were up 29-28 in the second quarter. But, the Raptors weren’t going away, as they matched nearly every shot to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The winner of this game will face the Miami Heat. Whoever picks up the victory in that game will face the No. 1 Milwaukee Bucks in the first-round of the playoffs.

However this game ends, you can not forget that the Raptors were thrown off of their game by Diar DeRozan.

UPDATE: The Bulls have advanced to the next round of the NBA play-in tournament, defeating the Raptors 109-105. Pascal Siakam had a chance to tie the game with a matter of seconds remaining in the fourth quarter with three free throw attempts on a shooting foul. But, Siakam missed two of those attempts, effectively securing Chicago’s victory.

Now, the Bulls will face the Heat on Friday, Apr. 14 at 7:00 p.m., live on TNT.
