Stetson Bennett IV is a two-time national champion out of Georgia but his NFL Draft prospects are looking even worse than previously expected.

As he looks toward the NFL, Stetson Bennett IV has a pretty nice trophy case to admire. The Georgia Bulldogs quarterback is a two-time national champion, a 2022 Heisman Trophy finalist, the 2022 Manning Award winner, and the 2022 SEC Championship Game MVP. He’s a legend in Athens forever, but he’s had his sights on the 2023 NFL Draft.

Unfortunately, it seems like the league might not be reciprocating those looks — or if they are, it’s not in any kind of favorable manner.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler used his insider intel to rank the 2023 draft’s quarterback class into tiers. Bennett fell into the bottom tier with executives and scouts Fowler talked to expressing off-field and on-field concerns about Bennett, many of the character concerns stemming from his January arrest in Dallas. The bulk of the on-field issues are, naturally, dealing with his size (5-foot-11), age and athletic tools.

As a result, Fowler noted that Bennett has a chance to go undrafted in 2023.

Stetson Bennett draft rumors: Georgia QB could go undrafted

No one was under the impression that Stetson Bennett was going to be a first-round draft pick or anything close. As a late-round flier, though, he made a ton of sense.

Say what you will about Bennett’s measurables and raw physical talent, even at Georgia surrounded by a host of future NFL players, winning back-to-back national championships and playing well n the biggest stages is something that front offices would often drool about, especially when it comes to a potentially cheap backup quarterback.

In that light, it’s shocking to see that Bennett has a floor of being a UDFA. Having said that, it’s hard to imagine that there wouldn’t be several teams on the phone with the former Georgia star trying to get him in the building as an undrafted player. The accolades are too great to ignore when it comes to that.

We’ll have to see if Bennett’s draft stock does hit that floor, but it’s a shocking turn of events to see it at this level just two weeks prior to the start of the 2023 NFL Draft.
