3 reasons why Cubs fans shouldn’t be worried about Dansby Swanson’s recent plunge

Dansby Swanson advanced stats aren’t all bad
Looking at the numbers, Swanson’s nosedive has some glimmers of hope.
For one, he’s barreled four times the amount of balls in the most recent 36 plate appearances as he did in the first 18 of the season. And though he’s struck out an ugly 14 times over the last seven games, he’s walked five times, something he only did once in his first four games. His plate discipline is OK.
In addition to those barreled balls, he’s also getting a 47% hard-hit percentage compared to 44% in his first four games.
There are a lot of ways to explain away the slump. Still, the hope, and need, is that he’ll come out of it soon.
