Jalen Carter has been at the center of a lot of discussions around the 2023 NFL Draft.

Carter was unfortunately at the scene of a fatal car crash in Athens, Georgia in January, but pled no contest to misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing. Despite being arguably the most talented pass rusher in the NFL Draft class, Carter’s draft stock has stumbled considerably due to questions off the field.

However, the Georgia pass rusher still seems like a shoe-in to go in the top 10 despite some off-field concerns, but which teams will take the chance?

Here’s where Carter stacks up in the draft betting markets as we try to pinpoint a landing spot for him:

Carter’s most likely spot is the Chicago Bears at No. 9, who traded back from the top pick last month as the team doesn’t need a quarterback and recouped some necessary draft capital (in addition to D.J. Moore). With assets in the bag, the Bears seem well suited to take a calculated gamble on Carter’s upside.

However, Carter’s range is far wider and starts higher up the board, such as at pick No. 5 and No. 6 with the Seahawks and Lions at +400 each, the favorites in this betting market.

Both teams are rumored to be interested in a wide array of players after each team exceeded expectations in 2022 and made the postseason but have failed teams picks, could they take the best player available in Carter?

The other teams within range are also in the top 10 with the reigning NFC Champions Eagles (+600) and the Falcons at No. 8 (+1000) reportedly considering the feared pass rusher.

Carter can land in a myriad of different places and a lot of it comes down how comfortable they are with some of the off-the-field concerns. If you believe that the talent is too much to pass up, you can get some great payouts on the middle of the top 10 or even as high as No. 3 to the Cardinals at +1400.
