Cody Bellinger hit a 420 foot home run on 4/20, bringing balance to universe

Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger hit a 420-foot home run against his former team on April 20, proving that baseball is magical.

The Chicago Cubs took a chance on former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger on a one-year, $17.5 million contract after he had failed to put up similar numbers as he did in his 2019 NL MVP season.

So far, the signing is paying off for the Cubs, as he is one of the team’s top hitters, alongside Nico Hoerner, Dansby Swanson, and Patrick Wisdom. On Thursday, Bellinger created baseball magic.

Facing off against the Dodgers at Wrigley Field, Bellinger crushed a solo home run off pitcher Michael Grove to dead center field to tie the game up at one run apiece in the bottom of the second inning.

So, here’s the magic. Bellinger’s home run measured at 420-feet…on Apr. 20 (4/20). If you thought that was cool, this was also Bellinger’s fourth home run and 20th hit of the season.

Oh, we’re not done just yet. Dodgers eighth-overall prospect James Outman hit a solo home run to right center field in the top of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead. That homer, also measured at 420-feet!

Despite the Cubs tying the game up on a RBI single by Hoerner in the top of the fourth inning, they were unable to pick up the win. Entering the top of the ninth inning, the game was tied 2-2. But, the Dodgers were able to take a 6-2 lead on a grand slam by Outman.

With this game in the books, Bellinger has now recorded a .290 batting average, a 367 on-base percentage, a .507 slugging percentage, four home runs, 13 RBI, 15 runs scored and 20 hits.

Not one, but two 420-foot home runs in Chicago on 4/20.
