Houston Texans Rumors: 3 juicy trades to land Trey Lance

2. Houston ups the ante and gives San Francisco a bit more, but nets a pick along with Trey Lance
In a second possible deal, Houston definitely does increase the value of picks traded by offering the 49ers both of the second-round picks they desire for Lance. However, there’s one small possible hiccup.
Because the Texans own the second pick in the second round, at No. 33 (which would typically count as the first pick in the second round, had the Dolphins not forfeited their first-rounder), they ask for another pick in return to even it out just a bit.
That’s why Houston asks San Francisco for their fifth-rounder this year, coming in at No. 155, in exchange for the pair of second-round selections they send back. That 33rd overall pick could prove to be highly valuable for the 49ers, so getting a pick in return would make this a bit easier for Houston to swallow.
Think about it this way: the 49ers get to select Iowa State edge rusher Will McDonald IV at No. 33 overall, adding him to the best defense in the league. Now, does this deal seem a bit fairer for Houston?
